My Journey of Becoming a Holistic MD
Brain and spine injuries brought me to new modalities for healing
I previously worked as a Family Doctor and I incorporated principles of Integrative/Functional Medicine into my practice for 3.5 years until I sustained significant injuries to my spine and brain in October 2017.
While on medical leave, I was searching far and wide for modalities to help me heal from the devastating effects these injuries had on my health and wellbeing. It was a long and challenging journey of healing, discovering and ultimately connecting more deeply with myself.
Trained in Reiki, ThetaHealing, Kundalini Yoga & Light Therapy
Many different modalities have been a part of my healing process, some of which I then decided to study myself because of how they transformed my life and health on such a deep level.
In 2018 I started studying Reiki, ThetaHealing and Kundalini Yoga (Level I) and then in 2019 I began my certification process in Light Therapy and in Medical Intuition.
From suffering to joy: mother and child
Many years before my injuries, it was my beautiful son (born in 2013) who really catapulted me into “natural” forms of medicine, after I had already been dabbling in studying Integrative Medicine since 2009.
When my son was just an infant and toddler he struggled with significant health issues (developmental regressions, autoimmunity, full body eczema, acid reflux, severe daily abdominal pain, poor appetite, stalled growth, and sleepless nights for years). It was so incredibly painful to see him suffer so much!
Western Medicine was not offering answers or helpful treatments, nor believing my mother’s intuition about what was really going on. So my mama bear instincts kicked in and I became very driven to find the help we needed to help him heal. I researched every day and we worked with many different practitioners.
Various therapies, special diets, and supplements were tried and it was ultimately Energy Medicine that helped him the most in becoming the healthy and happy child he is now at 7 years of age. I will be forever grateful for the amazing healers that crossed our paths and helped to transform his life (and mine) from one of daily suffering, pain, disability, and trauma for several years to one of great health, joy, peace and so much fun!
As a result of these personal experiences, I am incredibly passionate and excited to share these beautiful offerings with people of all ages from infancy and beyond!
Are you still practicing as a Medical Doctor?
I am not practicing as a Medical Doctor at this time as I chose to no longer maintain an active medical license; however I will be able to continue to carry the Medical Degree (MD) credential with me forever. Essentially, I have an MD without an active medical license. Therefore, I will not diagnose conditions, order investigations or prescribe medications. My background knowledge of Western, Integrative, and Functional Medicine all influence my healing sessions and give me a broad view and scope of what my clients may need to achieve health and wellness!
I look forward to working with you on your healing journey!
